Fabrication that is drawn once, clamped tight, and Built true.
BOS CREATE A LIMITED operates a working fabrication floor at 9/F AMTEL BLDG, 148 DES VOEUX RD C, Hong Kong (HK),
where set pieces, signage, brand installations and billboard row displays move from a measured drawing to a
finished object under one roof. The floor runs on taped bays, a maker bench with a vise, racks of studio
fabric bolts, a craft kiln with a vent stack and a billboard row that faces the street side of the room.
Every job is scheduled by hand, cut with a controlled tolerance, and signed off beside the bench before it
leaves the lift lobby.
The bench is where a project is measured, marked and assembled. A vise holds the rail while a joint is
fitted, and the hand tools stay within reach so that a change made on site can be repeated on the bench
the same afternoon.
Taped bays beside the studio fabric racks
The floor is divided into taped bays so that two jobs never share a cutting area. Beside the bays sit the
studio fabric bolt racks, stocked for soft banners, drape panels and the fabric faces of display work.
Craft kiln with vent stack
The kiln sits against the far wall with its vent stack climbing to the ceiling. Below it, the billboard
row holds finished panels in test position before they are packed for a launch, a lobby or a street
facing installation.
A fabrication floor built around the work, not around the software
Computer integrated systems design is often described as a discipline of diagrams. On this floor it is a
discipline of clearances. Every drawing that arrives at 9/F AMTEL BLDG is checked against the bench, the
rack and the kiln before a single panel is cut, because a millimetre lost in the file becomes a centimetre
lost on site. BOS CREATE A LIMITED takes that check seriously and performs it in the open, with the client
standing at the bench if they wish.
The floor holds six working areas that share one schedule. Set pieces are assembled in the long bay nearest
the service lift. Signage is cut and finished at the bench under the hanging lamps. Brand installation days
are packed from the rack wall. Studio fabrication rentals are released from the stores on the west side.
Kiln and finish work moves between the craft kiln and the cooling rail. Billboard row displays are tested on
the face of the row before they are crated. Because all six areas report to one floor board, a change in
one area is visible in the others within the hour.
The team works in English and keeps written records for every job: a measured drawing, a cut list, a finish
specification and a sign off page. Those records are kept deliberately simple so that a client can read them
without special training. A set piece should be understood by the person who commissioned it, not only by
the person who welded it. This principle guides how BOS CREATE A LIMITED quotes, schedules and hands over
every project that passes through the workshop.

Six services bolted to the same rack
Each entry below is a service the floor performs in house. The cards are bolted to the rack at different
heights and different widths because the work itself is uneven: some jobs run for a single day, others hold a
bay for a month. Read the short note, then follow the link for the full description, the materials and the
typical lead time.
S
Set Piece Fabrication
Large format scenery, podium surrounds, room dividers and stage furniture are built in the long bay and
braced for transport. Frames are cut to a measured drawing, faced with sheet material, then finished at the
bench so that edges meet cleanly under event lighting.
Set pieces are test assembled on the taped floor before they are crated, which removes the usual surprise
of a first build happening at the venue.
Letters, plates, wayfinding panels and window graphics are cut, dressed and edge finished on the bench.
The team works in acrylic, composite sheet, timber veneer and thin metal, matching each material to the
distance from which the sign will be read.
A brand installation day is a single scheduled window in which a retail unit, lobby or pop up is stripped,
fitted and dressed before opening. The floor pre builds the components, packs them by zone and sends a crew
with a snag list that is closed before the handover.
Access notes, lift dimensions and fire routes are confirmed in advance so the day itself is assembly, not
problem solving.
The floor releases bench space, hand tools, the fabric bolt racks and selected equipment for short studio
periods. Rentals suit photographers, stylists and small design teams that need a measured, well lit work
surface without taking a long lease.
The craft kiln handles small ceramic components, cast plaques, clay tokens and decorative elements that
need a fired finish. Work is loaded to a published curve, cooled slowly and inspected against the sample
tile before it is released to a project.
Glaze trials are kept in a sample box so that a finish approved once can be repeated on a later batch.
Display panels for billboard rows, transit corridors and event walls are built, faced and fitted with
lighting channels on the floor. Panels are hung on the row in test position to check alignment, colour and
spacing before they are wrapped for delivery.
BOS CREATE A LIMITED opens its winter build calendar, holding two bays for cold weather
installation work and reserving kiln time for glaze trials before the year turns.

How the six services work together on a single project
A launch for a retail brand might use four of the six services in sequence. A set piece is built, a sign is cut,
installation day is scheduled and a billboard row display is prepared for the entrance. The floor board tracks
each of these as one job, so a delay in the kiln does not silently push the installation crew.
Set Piece Fabrication
Built first and built heavy. Frames, faces and plinths are cut to drawing, assembled in the bay and
reinforced at the joints so that the piece survives a lift, a truck and a busy event floor.
Cut after the set piece, because the sign has to match the face it sits on. Edge finishing is done at the
bench with the fabric racks rolled back to give a clean sight line.
Scheduled once the parts are signed off. Packing happens by zone, the crew list is fixed and the snag list
travels with the tools so nothing is left open at the end of the day.
Booked around production, not through it. Rental periods are kept clear of client builds so that a
photographer can use the bench and racks without a set piece moving behind the lens.
Run in parallel with the larger builds. Small fired parts are batched so the kiln is never half loaded, and
each batch cools on the rail while the crew works elsewhere.
The final check before delivery. Panels hang on the row, the lighting channel is balanced and the colour is
compared under the same lamp type that will run on site.
A measured route from first enquiry to signed handover
The floor does not open a job until the brief can be drawn. That single rule keeps the six services honest.
A client who arrives with a sketch leaves with a measured drawing, a cut list and a date, or leaves with a
clear explanation of why the date cannot be met on this floor.
Measure and mark
The brief is translated into a drawing with tolerances noted. Site access, lift size and finish samples
are confirmed before the bay is booked.
Cut and clamp
Materials are cut at the bench and held in the vise for assembly. Every part is labelled against the cut
list so packing later is a matter of reading, not guessing.
Fire and finish
Kiln parts are fired on a published curve. Finishes are matched to the approved sample tile and checked
under the lamp that will light the finished work.
